Natural
Conservation Beef is natural, grass fed, free range beef. It never sees a feedlot.
Raised with No Added Hormones and No Antibiotics
Our cattle receive no added growth hormones or steroids, and because healthy land produces healthy animals, Conservation Beef cattle are kept robust and healthy naturally — without the need for antibiotics. Any animals treated with antibiotics are removed from the program.
Grass Fed and Healthful
Conservation Beef enjoys the health benefits of grass feeding. Our beef is higher in essential fatty acids, including Omega 3 fats and Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), which contribute to heart-healthiness, cancer-fighting ability, and prevention of mental health disorders. Conversely, grass fed beef is lower in Omega 6 fats, which are considered by nutritionists to be overabundant in the average diet and thus potentially harmful to health. Other beneficial but often deficient nutrients found in substantially higher quantities in grass fed beef are vitamin E and beta-carotene.
Safe
In recent years, the feedlot/industrial production of beef has been demonstrated to carry health risks, including e. coli bacteria contamination and BSE.
Conservation Beef is a fundamentally different product. It is free range, never in a feedlot,* and never fed animal by-products. All CB cattle are born and raised in the American West, and never imported from abroad. In short, you can be fully confident in the healthfulness and safety of Conservation Beef.
Humanely Treated
Conservation Beef protocols demand that cattle are treated humanely and handled with care. We believe this also assures you the highest quality beef.
*Among other negative impacts, a high-calorie feedlot diet changes the normal acidity of a beef animal's rumen, making it more hospitable to the strain of e. coli bacteria that is harmful to humans.
